This camera is a redesigned version of the Minolta X-7. It has the shortened shutter-time scale in the viewfinder of the XG-1 but is equipped with an ‘Acute Matte’ focusing screen. In contrast to the Japan-only X-7, this was an export model for the North American market. It was the last member of the XG family, being introduced in 1982.
